The regional environmental group, Friends of Wetlands, is publishing their
newsletter online. The newest issue describes a walk through the Boy Scouts Camp Firelands, which has entrances on both Bates and Gore Orphanage roads (west of Oberlin). A branch of the Vermilion River winds through the camp. The camp offers acres and acres of beautiful woodlands, with a remarkable assemblage of flora and fauna. Physics professor Dan Styer was on hand, assisting with identification of species.
